Supplying BorWin6 project for Bohlen & Doyen

We have been supplying a Bohlen & Doyen project in Northern Germany with both our purchased and rented crane mats since April 2025. It’s a large project, requiring a total of approximately 7,000 mats measuring 500x100x10 cm.

The purchased crane mats are a combination of different wood types, consisting of Azobé/Dabema and Okan/Dabema. They also have painted heads in Bohlen & Doyen’s corporate color: green.

The BorWin6 project is a TenneT offshore high-voltage direct current project in the German North Sea, with a capacity of 980 megawatts and a total cable length of 235 kilometers. The project uses innovative 66-kilovolt three-phase cables to transport wind energy directly from the turbines to the BorWin kappa offshore platform, where the power is converted to direct current (DC) and then fed to the converter station in Büttel. BorWin6 is scheduled for commissioning in 2027.
