International Day of Recycling

This is very important to Welex Group, which is why we believe it is essential to highlight the International Day of Recycling on March 18, 2026.

Recycling is something we can no longer ignore today. We must do everything we can to minimize waste streams.
We produce our crane mats / bog mats from various types of (hard)wood. Hardwood is an extremely valuable and essential raw material and should therefore never be wasted.

What do we do in terms of recycling?
We give our crane mats a second life by repairing and reusing them. This means that damaged mats do not have to be discarded.
When wood is replaced or sawn for a new mat, we recycle the steel pins, which are then melted down and reused for new products.
Our sawmill waste, such as wood chips and fine dust, is also recycled. The fine dust is processed into pellets, and wood chips are used for walking paths or soil improvement.

In this way, we ensure that our cycle is complete and nothing is wasted, contributing to a circular economy!
